Dia 2o: El Palacio Real, El Prado, y Nuestros Tours Gastonómicos

Primero me levanté a las siete de la mañana para ducharme y desayunar antes de empezar el dia. Fui abajo al primer piso para el desayuno; había un buffet libre que tenía huevos, tocino, zumo de naranja y otra comida y bebidas deliciosas. Después de comer, fuimos al Palacio Real para aprender sobre el rey Carlos III de España y su familia. Caminamos por El Palacio y vimos muchas cosas asombrosas como lampara arañas muy bonitas, los tronos reales, y una mesa de cenar muy larga. Después de ver el Palacio Real, fuimos a ver el armario y la farmacia real. Aunque no nos quedemos por mucho tiempo, esos lugares son muy interesantes también. Antes del almuerzo disfrutamos de unos helados. Para almorzar, nosotros comimos a un restaurante Italiano y obviamente, fue delicioso. Cuando volvimos de almorzar, tomamos una siesta por 4 horas porque todos todavía estábamos cansados. Por la tarde, caminamos a un museo de arte clásico de Madrid que se llama El Prado. A dentro del Prado, claramente hubo muchas pinturas viejas e interesantes, pero también hubo muchas esculturas. Fueron bonitas, pero a la misma vez fueron un poquito cómicas. No pienso que podía dar diez pasos sin ver algún retrato de una persona sin ropa o una estatua desnuda. Después de ver todo el arte en El Prado, salimos a cenar. Comimos en un restaurante muy elegante, y caro, pero la comida otra vez fue riquísima. No pienso que he comido entrante o plato principal malo durante todo este viaje. Por fin, caminamos por la Plaza Mayor donde está el restaurante más viejo del mundo, el restaurante que se llama el Botín. Todo lo que hicimos hoy fue divertido y sé que no voy a olvidar la comida muy pronto.

First I woke up at seven in the morning to shower and eat breakfast before the day began. I went downstairs to the first floor to have breakfast; there was a buffet that had eggs, bacon, orange juice, and other delicious food and drinks. After eating, we went to “El Palacio Real” (the royal palace) to learn about King Carlos III of Spain and his family. We walked through the palace and saw amazing pieces of furniture like extremely beautiful chandeliers, the royal thrones, and a very long dinner table. After seeing the palace, we went to see the royal armory and pharmacy. Although we did not stay for very long, these places were very interesting as well. Before we sat down for lunch, we all enjoyed some locally made ice cream. For lunch, we ate at an Italian restaurant and of course, it was delicious. When we returned from lunch, we had a rest period for 4 hours because everyone was still tired. In the afternoon, we walked to a Classic Spanish Art Museum called El Prado. Inside of El Prado, clearly there were many old paintings that were interesting, but also there were many sculptures. They were pretty, but at the same time they were a little funny. I don’t think I could take 10 steps without seeing something naked. After seeing all of the art at El Prado, we went out for dinner. We ate at a restaurant that was very elegant, and expensive, but the food, again, was delicious. I don’t think I have eaten a bad meal during this trip yet. Finally, we walked through the Plaza Mayor that has the oldest restaurant in the world in it, the restaurant is called El Botin. Everything that we did today was fun and I know that I am not going to forget the food anytime soon.
