Dia 6o: Ourense: In Hot Water & Basketball

Hoy fue el día! Cuando me despierto necesité que ducharme. Las duchas aquí son muy diferentes que en los Estados Unidos. En los EEUU estas dentro de un espacio encerado y no puedes mojar el piso, pero en España las duchas no tienen paredes. Es muy fácil mojar todo en el baño. También en la ducha en mi casa la cabeza de la ducha no esta en la pared, necesitas usar la con tu mano. Todos hemos tenido que secar el piso del baño con una toalla después de ducharnos ☺ Después de la ducha fui al colegio para empezar la excursión del día. Fui con todos los Americanos y Españoles. En el autobús necesitamos sentarnos con una persona del otro país. Esto fue bueno porque por eso pude conocer mas chicos de España. Cuando llegamos a las termas nos cambiamos y después fuimos en el agua. Nos dijeron que necesitábamos ir por 10 minutos en el agua caliente y después en el agua fría. El agua fría fue como una piscina de hielo. Me gusto mucho el agua caliente por que era muy relajante. Es muy guay que el agua se calienta naturalmente. No e viste esto en los Estados Unidos. Al terminar en las termas fuimos a una gimnasio para jugar baloncesto. Maestra tiene un amigo que juega baloncesto profesionalmente, Willie Landon. Es muy guay que pudimos pasar tiempo con un hombre famoso como el. Pienso que el mide 7 feet. Fue muy gracioso cuando yo estaba cerca de Willie porque el es mucho mas alto que yo. Además de baloncesto jugamos futbol. Pienso que todos los chicos en España son muy buenos al jugar futbol. Los chicos de los EEUU querían jugar futbol con los españoles y ellos nos ganaron por mucho.  A continuación, caminamos por el centro de Ourense. El centro tenia muchas tiendas pequeñas y también cafés. Una mujer (Maestra) muy simpática pago por todo de nuestro helado en la heladería. Las heladerías son muy buenas en España. Mi sabor favorita es dulce de leche, en los Estados Unidos ellos tienen dulce de leche pero no es tan bueno. Por la noche fui a Pontevedra para cena y para karaoke. Para cenar comimos bocadillos grandes. En España los bocadillos no tienen condimentos pero son muy deliciosos. El pan es mejor y el pollo que estaba en mi bocadillo fue muy delicioso. Toda la carne aquí es muy fresca y por eso es mas deliciosa que en los EEUU. Con cada cena y cada almuerzo siempre bebemos una coca cola. Esto es muy similar a America. Después de cenar, caminamos a una sala de karaoke. El karaoke fue muy divertido. Es gracioso que todas las canciones eran en ingles y son las mismas canciones en America. Cuando terminamos el karaoke fuimos a casa a la una de la mañana. Fue una día muy divertido.

Today was the most fun day! When I woke up i needed to shower. The showers here are very different from the showers in America. At home there are walls and something to stand in when you shower, but in Spain there are no walls and it’s really easy to get everything in the bathroom wet. Also at home the showerhead is attached to the wall, but not here. Here you need to hold she showerhead. We have all had to mop the floors with our towels at one point or another after a shower ☺ Once I showered, I went to the school to start the activities for the day. I went with both the Spaniards and the Americans. In the bus we needed to sit with someone from the other country. This was good because it allowed me to introduce myself to Spanish kids that i didn’t know. When we got to the hot springs we changed and then went into the water. They told us that we needed to spend ten minutes in the hot water and then we needed to go in the cold water to cool down. The cold water was like a pool of ice! I liked the hot water better. I think it’s really cool that the water is heated naturally. I have never seen hot springs in America. After the hot springs we went to a gym to play basketball. Maestra has a friend who plays professional basketball in Europe, Willie Landon. It was very interesting passing time with someone famous like him. It was really funny when I stood next to him and he was 7ft tall and I am only 5´2". Compared to me he was a giant. Along with basketball we played soccer. I think every child in Spain is really good at soccer. We wanted to play with them and they won by a lot. Later on we walked around the center of Orense. The center had a lot of little stores and cafes. A really nice lady (Maestra) paid for all of our ice cream at a cute little ice cream parlor. The ice cream is really good in Spain. My favorite flavor is dulce de leche. We have dulce de leche in America but it isn’t even close to as good as it is here. At night we went to Pontevedra for dinner and for karaoke. For dinner we ate huge subs. In Spain the sandwiches don’t have condiments yet they are still really good. The bread is the best and the chicken that was on my sandwich was so fresh. All of the food here is really fresh; therefore it tastes much better then in the USA. With every meal we drink coke, which is very similar to America. After dinner we walked to the karaoke. The karaoke was very fun and it was funny because all of the songs were in English so my friends and I were able to sing along. By the time we finished the karaoke, it was one in the morning and we went home and went to sleep. This was the best day we have had so far.
